Responsibilities
- Lead and manage urban planning projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and implement urban design strategies that balance community needs, economic development, and environmental sustainability.
- Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports to support planning decisions.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders, and community members to achieve project goals.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and changes in local regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior team members to support their professional development.
- Prepare and present project updates and recommendations to clients and partners.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in urban planning, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
- Licensed as a Professional Planner (AICP) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience leading and managing complex urban planning projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS software.
- Familiarity with New York City's urban planning policies and regulations.
