Join the New York City Department of City Planning as a Senior Urban Planner and help shape the future of our city. We're seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to contribute to our comprehensive planning efforts.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex urban planning projects from inception to completion.
- Analyze data and prepare reports to inform planning decisions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including community members, elected officials, and other city agencies.
- Prepare and present recommendations to the Planning Commission and other bodies.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to the development of planning policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in urban planning, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of the New York City Planning Code and Zoning Resolution.
- Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred.
