Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems.
- Optimize database performance and ensure high availability.
- Manage database backups, restores, and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate databases with applications.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database issues.
- Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience (7+ years) as a Database Administrator.
- Expertise in SQL and one or more database platforms (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server).
- Strong knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and backup strategies.
- Experience with database clustering, replication, and sharding.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability to work in New York, NY.
